Jack Dorsey’s “two key hacks” for staying focused and productive

Not long ago, Jack Dorsey was the CEO of not just one but two major global technology companies: Twitter and Block. He was also on the board of Walt Disney.

In a world where so much is changing so fast, how did he manage to deal with the issues facing not just one but three major corporations?

The answer, he says, is not rocket science: you just need a constant routine.

This brings:

“a steady state that enables me to be more effective when I do have to react to something out of band.”

And how do we establish this routine?

Jack Dorsey recommends:

“two key hacks … meditation and exercise!”

Jack Dorsey starts each day at 5am with 30 minutes of meditation. Then he does a seven-minute workout three times before having his first cup of coffee. Then he gets on with his day.

The churning world that we are living through is bringing us more issues to deal with. It is also making those issues more urgent and yet harder to address.

Setting aside time for meditation and exercise connects us deeply with what matters most to us. And that prepares us for anything the day might bring.
